Childhood is full of many firsts; first words, first steps, first visit to the ER .... Lucie fell out of a wagon at nursery school and somehow bit through her tongue on the landing. After a sleepless night and refusal to eat or drink anything (even the pink stuff), we relented and took her in. The doc decided that the risk of infection was too high for stitches, so we are relying on the power of childhood cell regeneration to carry her through this injury. The good news is that the scar tissue will preclude her from being eligible for any future tongue piercings. That is one bling the girl will have to live without.
